The week of July 21st to July 25th sees the arrival of two Mindframe staff members in sunny Northern Queensland.  As an important part of the Mindframe for the Mental Health Sector capacity building strategy, Jaelea Skehan and Jo Piggott, in partnership with Queensland Health, will be delivering free Mindframe workshops for the mental health sector and undertaking briefings with local media.

Visiting Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns provides an exciting opportunity for the team as well as for recipients of the Mindframe sessions.  A big thank you to Sharon Broadley, Manager of Communications, Marketing and Media Mental Health Branch Queensland Health who has assisted to coordinate the visits and promote Queensland Mental Health Branch staff to attend the media briefings.

This collaborative approach aims to establish relationships between local media organisations and Queensland Health staff to facilitate a point of contact for media professionals when working on suicide or mental health/illness stories.
