Capacity Building Model

Capacity building occurs within programs or more broadly within systems and leads to greater capacity of people, organisations and communities to promote health.  It is sometimes used to refer to the capacity of an organisation to build an infrastructure to support particular programs, at other times to refer to the capacity for a program to be sustained after an initial demonstration phase.  It is also used more broadly to encompass the problem solving capabilities of individuals, organisations and communities whereby they develop generalised skills to tackle a range of health issues.

Capacity Building Audit Tool

The Mindframe team has developed an audit tool that allows mental health and suicide prevention organisations to identify their strengths and challenges in relation to the Mindframe capacity building model.

The audit tool is structured around the 5 focus areas of the Mindframe capacity building model:

  • organisational development;
  • workforce development;
  • resource allocation;
  • partnerships; and
  • leadership.
Why should you complete the audit tool?

The audit tool will enable the Mindframe project team to develop an Organisational Profile that identifies areas for potential development and assists with internal organisational planning for your organisation.

How do I complete the audit tool?

You can download an electronic copy of the audit tool by clicking here.

Once completed, the audit tool can be sent to the Mindframe project team at mindframe@hnehealth.nsw.gov.au.

Mindframe would value original print or electronic copies of any resources or documents that organisations have identified on the audit form (such as strategic plan documents, media engagement policies etc). This is strictly for confidential internal Mindframe project information only, and will not be made available outside the project for any reason.
